Symposium on “The Doha round after Hong Kong: Where does India stand?”

Launched in November 2001, the Doha Development Agenda has entered a crucial phase of negotiations after conclusion of the Sixth Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference held at Hong Kong from December 13-18, 2005. To reflect critically on the Ministerial Text adopted at Hong Kong, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) and Centad are organising a symposium on “The Doha Round after Hong Kong : Where Does India Stand?” on January 6, 2006 at PHD House, 4/2 Siri Institutional Area, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi 110 016,  from 2 p.m. onwards.

The objective of the symposium is to reflect critically on the Ministerial Text (available in www.wto.org), engage with businesses and other concerned stakeholders and seek inputs for moving forward. The symposium will provide participants an opportunity to interact and discuss with government officials and leading experts on the subject.

The tentative agenda is as follows:
14:00 – 14:30: Registration
14:30 - 14:35: Welcome address by Ms. Sushma Berlia, President, PHDCCI
14:35 – 14:45: Introduction and remarks by the Chair
14:45 – 15:45:

“The Doha Round after Hong Kong: Where Does India Stand?”
