Centad requires an accountant for its office in New Delhi. The applicant should have a Master’s degree in Commerce & Accounts and at least 2-3 years experience in the social sector. S/he should have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as a member of a team. The applicant should be able to use her/his judgement in routine matters and work under minimal supervision.
The key responsibilities include:
- Compiling budgets and monitoring expenses on projects as against budget/disbursements
- Keeping track of income and expenditure on a monthly basis and preparing reports
- Timely disbursement of salaries and other payments of all staff
- Liaising with donor agencies for transfer of funds
- Checking and processing payments of all payable vouchers
- Keeping updated accounts and petty cash payments
- Maintaining finance records, finalising accounts - balance sheet and income and expenditure statements
- Ensuring that grants are utilised as per agreed budget and bringing any deviations to the notice of the management
- Liaising with auditors/banks and other financial institutions.
